Ornament for Donna's ChristmasTree

Here is an ornament I made for Donna's Tree this year. (see Nov. 30th post) I used a plain glass ornament I got at Michaels. I used Pledge floor shine to coat the inside of the ornament, then poured out the excess. I then filled with a good amount of red glitter and shook it until it completely coated the inside of the ornament. I poured out the excess glitter. I tied a ribbon around the neck of the ornament and then placed the cap on it. I used SCAL2 and the font called "formal" for the name Donna and 2008. I then cut it out of white vinyl (provocraft vinyl) The snowflake was from the cricut cartridge Joys of the Season.

Holiday Ornament Iris folding

Here is an iris folding ornament I made. This one is special to me. I lost my best friend Donna to cancer last December 9th. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she asked us to remember to have Christmas every year. I bought her family a small Christmas tree that they could plant in the backyard with an angel ornament after the funeral. I promised that I would send an ornament to her family every Christmas in remembrance of her and our friendship. I miss her dearly everyday. I will be making her a glass ornament too and I will post that at a later time. I made the cards with winter wonderland cricut cartridge and embossed the white card with the Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder and added a blue gem to the middle of the snowflake. I used gold stickles to put dots around the red ornament and used Martha Stewarts gold glitter marker for the top of the ornament.

Christmas Card Challenge Entry

Hello all, It's now time to get those Christmas cards going on their way. I entered a card challenge at http://cricutcardzchallenge.blogspot.com/ to make a Christmas card with only pink & green colors using the cricut cartridges. I made this card with the winter wonderland cartridge. I did iris folding for the "o" and "y" in the word Joy. I used green and pick origami paper. I used green stickles to give it some bling along with a polka dot ribbon and pop up dots.

Iris Folding Cards
Hello Everyone,I made a couple of iris folding cards. My 1st card was "thinking of you", and a learning card for me. I tried to use the thinest cardstock I had. but with the amount of folds this pattern had, it really bulked up the inside of the card. So the lesson I learned was: Not to put the design so close to the bottom of the card and to stamp (leaves) the card "before" I added the folded papers. On the second card (car)I used origami paper. It was thinner and less bulky on the inside and gave a good result. The Flowerpot card pattern was really for a witches caldron. which you can see in this video on youtube. Here Unfortunately, the site where I found the pattern is no longer available.

My Latest Creation

Welcome to Kitt's World. This is my first blog and post. As well as my current "phase" LOL. I'm trying to learn how, what, when & why blogging is a "good thing" . So please have patience with me. I will share pictures of things I created and my thoughts on things I find interesting that may be of interest to you. (or not). At this time or "phase" as DH refers to them. I like to make cards and with the holiday season approaching , its a good phase to be in now. I was inspired to make this shutter card by Mary of CardzTV. Click Here. She also encouraged me to enter the CardzTV Challenge, which means I had to do more then just give my blog a name. So, she has inspired me to new heights, as this will also be my very first "contest challenge" of any kind in many years. Besides, I needed a URL address to enter. Here are pictures (before I knew what I wanted to do) and after completion. I used paperdolls dressup and winterwonderland cartridges. I also embossed the white background behind the deer with the new cuddlebug snowflake embossing folder I purchased from HSN. They had a special bundle of 6 for around $19.95. Thanks for stopping by today. Stay tune to see new phases in Kitt's World soon.
